The Murphy bed is designed to accommodate most standard queen-size mattresses (between 8 and 12 in. or 20.3 and 30.5 cm thick; between 60 and 90 lb or 27.2 and 40.8 kg; 60 x 80 in. or 152.4 x 203.2 cm) and supports up to 1,000 lb (453.6 kg), including the weight of the mattress. When open, the bed requires a clearance of 91.8 in. (233.1 cm) from the wall. The bed cabinet must be anchored to a wall with a minimum height of 91.1 in. (231.4 cm). Allow 30 in. (76.2 cm) to 36 in. (91.4 cm) of clearance around the open bed.
The closet organizer includes 2 fixed shelves and 3 adjustable shelves for storing your belongings, as well as 2 closet rods, 3 drawers and 2 doors. The wall bed’s dual-mount anchoring system attaches to both the floor and wall for easier assembly and maximum stability and durability.
To prevent the risk of injury, the Murphy bed must be secured to the wall and floor structure by a professional or qualified person. Two people are required for assembly. Installation requires attachment to wood studs or masonry, removal of the baseboard and drilling into the floor (if disassembly is required, the holes can be concealed with baseboards that are 0.5 in./1.3 cm thick or more). All necessary hardware is included.
